Chemical pollution is speeding up nature-loss.
The health of UK wildlife, from insects, to birds, otters and dolphins is being harmed by chemical pollution, with toxic chemical cocktails found in over 1,600 UK river and groundwater sites.
Curbing the chemical cocktail
We want tougher controls on the chemicals allowed to be produced and sold in the UK, including a ban on the most hazardous chemicals, and better research and monitoring so we know what’s in our waters and how to tackle the harmful impact it is having for communities and nature.
The road to change
Many safe alternatives to harmful chemicals exist, and where they don’t we need to invest in developing them. But we need Government to put us on the road to change through tough action.

Membership of Wildlife and Countryside Link is open to national and international voluntary or other non-profit organisations based in England. Member organisations must be able to demonstrate an interest in furthering the work of Link, and their aims must include the protection of wildlife, landscape and the quiet enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside. Individual members of the public are not eligible to join Link, but may be interested in joining one of Link's member organisations.
