The NAAONB has three objectives, which in summary are
• to promote the conservation and enhancement of natural beauty
• to advance the education, understanding and appreciation of the public in relation to the conservation and enhancement natural beauty
• to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of those organisations tasked with delivering on the first object.
Membership includes the AONB partnerships in England and Wales, as well as some Local Authorities with statutory responsibility for AONBs, and a number of voluntary bodies and individuals with an interest in the future of hese iconic landscapes.
