Established in 2009, ALERC is an association of Local Environmental Records Centres (LERCs). It provides a central UK voice for records centres, whilst building a support network of knowledge, best practice and advice to meet the needs of its members.
LERCs are not-for-profit organisations that collate and manage information on the natural environment for their area. They support and collaborate with a network of expert volunteer recorders to ensure information is robust and accessible to a range of audiences including decision-makers, the public, and researchers.
