The Rivers Trust

The Rivers Trust have been described as having "wet feet" because they have the reputation of delivering practical catchment, river and fishery improvement works on the ground. They now represent catchments across a large part of England and Wales and new ones are continually forming.

Following its launch in 2001, The River Trust (RT) was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee and granted registered charity status by the Charities Commission in 2004. RT is the representative body of the Rivers Trust movement in England and Wales and also provides an "umbrella" for many community based river improvement groups, initiatives and projects. RT has an MOU with its sister body in Scotland, "River and Fisheries Trusts Scotland" (RAFTS).
