Clean water can't wait: the Government must take action now for nature and people.
Right now sewage, farming pollution and toxic chemicals are choking rivers, lakes and seas. Habitats are shrinking, wildlife is declining and communities are paying the price.
This year is make-or-break for England’s rivers, wetlands and coastlines, with an upcoming water law providing a once in a generation opportunity to finally clean up our waters.
The UK Government has promised once-in-a-generation change, but the proposals don’t yet add up to the transformation needed. Government must seize the moment to:
Action can’t wait any longer. If the Government lets this chance slip away, there won’t be another for years to come. That’s why over 40 organisations - representing more than 9 million supporters collectively - have joined forces to launch the Clean Water Now campaign.
Membership of Wildlife and Countryside Link is open to national and international voluntary or other non-profit organisations based in England. Member organisations must be able to demonstrate an interest in furthering the work of Link, and their aims must include the protection of wildlife, landscape and the quiet enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside. Individual members of the public are not eligible to join Link, but may be interested in joining one of Link's member organisations.
