Bycatch Virtual Sub-group

The Bycatch sub-group works to secure adequate Bycatch response strategies and regulations at UK and EU levels. This includes calling on the UK to implement measures to address cetacean bycatch, going beyond the requirements of the EU Bycatch Regulation, in keeping with its commitments under the Habitats Directive.
The group also monitors the development of the Marine Bill and other relevant legislation, seeking to ensure that adequate consideration is given to cetacean bycatch. This group operates virtually, communicating via email when necessary and not holding regular meetings.
