Today bugs are under threat as never before, there are huge declines in riverflies, bumblebees, butterflies and other bugs. 65% of all species are bugs and they are essential to the healthy functioning of the environment, as Sir David Attenborough has said ‘If we and the rest of the back-boned animals were to disappear overnight, the rest of the world would get on pretty well. But if the invertebrates were to disappear, the world’s ecosystems would collapse.’
