sets out 7 indicators of progress and covers 3 key elements for halting biodiversity loss:

Protect,
enhance and aid the recovery of threatened species and habitats

Protect
our finest wildlife sites and ensure appropriate management

Make
space for biodiversity, i.e. make our farmland, forests, rivers and
oceans more wildlife friendly places to live
Put another
way, we must ‘stop the rot, protect
the best and restore the rest’. We need urgent action on all
of these areas now if we
are to meet the 2010 target. |
